Unity AAC
Unity® AAC features a robust, research-based Minspeak® vocabulary used by individuals with apraxia, cerebral palsy, autism, Down syndrome, Rett syndrome, and other diagnoses that involve receptive or expressive language deficits. It's also the foundation of LAMP Words for Life® and CoreScanner™ vocabularies. Known for its multi-meaning symbols and consistent motor plans, Unity AAC helps communicators of all ages learn quickly and build language skills for maximum independence.
Unity AAC fits into the category of assistive technology known as augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) and includes features that were previously only available in much more expensive dedicated devices. Words, phrases and messages are spoken with a built-in voice synthesizer or by playing recorded message. Various English synthesized voices are available, or you can create your own with The Voice Keeper™ or Apple® Personal Voice, allowing you to choose a voice that fits your personality.
Unity AAC includes an in-app tutorial to help you learn more about the vocabulary structure and how to select the best file your communication needs and goals.
Unity AAC can be used by individuals with a wide variety of access needs. Included in the app are:
- integrated head tracking (*with applicable iPad/iPhone models)
- configurable switch scanning
- range of touch access features
